It is now possible to officially announce that 47701 will be entering traffic at the Dartmoor Railway. The long awaited return to traffic, and debut at the Dartmoor Railway has come about after months of e-mails, letters and phone calls to BARS (British American Rail Services who provide Dartmoor Railway managment). A long time in coming, but hopefully worth the wait. Where it is not yet possible to say as and when 47701 will make her debut on frontline duties for Dartmoor Railway there is light at the end of the tunnel. As many may well be aware by now 47701 has had a fairly big complication with returning to service owing mainly to the fact she currently has a halon fire extinguisher system, and therefore is uninsurable should she catch fire whilst in servic...
